CLEVELAND, Ohio — Ohio State (11-0) takes on Michigan (11-0) in Columbus Saturday. The winner earns a trip to the Big Ten championship and a likely berth in the College Football Playoff. The loser will no longer control their CFP destiny.
After losing to the school up North last year, the Buckeyes are looking to get back to their winning ways versus UM. OSU had won eight straight over UM before last season’s loss.
The Buckeyes vaunted passing attack is favored by more than a touchdown to beat UM’s power running game, but OSU will need to manufacture a running game that has been sporadic this year, to fully expose UM’s passing defense.
To keep OSU’s defense off balance against the run, UM will need to generate some passing yards. Something they didn’t do last week vs. Illinois.
After beating OSU last year, some of UM’s players labeled OSU soft because they couldn’t run or stop the run vs. UM. The guess here is that OSU shows the Wolverines some toughness and avenges last year’s loss.
