COLUMBUS -- LeBron James isn’t going to be able to make a second appearance at an Ohio State football game this season, but he still wanted to be part of what might be its most important game in almost 20 years.

The four-time MVP already attended the Buckeyes’ 21-10 win over Notre Dame for their first regular-season game. But he’ll be busy getting ready to help the Lakers play the Spurs in San Antonio on Saturday. So instead, he’s just decided to give the team some exclusive gear to wear.

He’s gifted the Buckeyes a cleated version of his first signature shoe, the ‘Nike Air Zoom Generation’, which debuted during his rookie season in 2003. They’ll wear the cleats with their typical home jerseys featuring the silver helmets, scarlet jerseys with the current stripe and silver pants.

“Let’s Go!!!!!! Had to make sure my boys had that (heat) for the weekend!! O-H!! #GoBucks,” James tweeted with a series of fire emojis, making sure the ‘M’ was crossed out with a red X.

James has been an avid gift giver to Ohio State’s football and basketball programs regardless of what NBA team he’s on as possibly its most famous fan, even teasing the thought of playing for them at times. He’s already given the football team exclusive Beat By Dre headphones this year and in years past when it’s gone to bowl games. In 2017 he gifted them a cleated version of the Zoom Solider 10 — his team shoe edition — for games against Penn State and Michigan.

Now he’s done so again in 2022, providing another way for the Buckeyes to — as C.J. Stroud said in the offseason — get fly going into what will be the most interesting game of the final week of the regular season between the nation’s No. 2 and No. 3 teams
