MUNROE FALLS, Ohio – If you spent the early aughts watching TV shows like “Monster Garage” or “Trick My Truck” and dreamed of transforming an ambulance into a vehicle of your choice, it’s your lucky week: The city of Munroe Falls is auctioning off a 2006 Ford E450 SD Ambulance.
For the creative or mechanically inclined, the ambulance presents virtually unlimited transformation options: consider a camper, a bus for tailgating or your own “Ghostbusters” Ecto 1.
The used ambulance is being auctioned online, with 100 percent of proceeds helping to fund city road maintenance, local events, community programs and public safety initiatives, according to a news release.
The ambulance has a little more than 45,000 miles on it and the vehicle body and cab are listed as being in fair condition. The listing also states the vehicle needs engine work, and possibly has a blown head gasket or cracked head. The vehicle is being sold as-is with no warranty. The vehicle comes with a 2010 Stryker EMS cot model 6082. See auction listing for complete details.
The auction is now live and is scheduled to end Friday, Jan. 27 at 9:30 a.m. The current high bid for the ambulance is $1,250 and there is no reserve. Interested bidders must create a Municibid account to be able to place a bid. Prospective buyers can make an appointment to inspect the vehicle Monday through Friday by calling 330-688-7491.
